Seven things which surprised me in Washington:

1.    There are the people in Washington who say: “I hate to speak about money”.

2.     The experts declare all of the advertisers have moved to the Internet, however there are plenty of advertisements in Express, The Georgetowner, The Examiner, and Washington City Paper, .

3.    Washingtonians do not have a winter mentality. The winter has finished today, tomorrow no one will think about it.

4.    There are wooden fences in Washington.
5.    The Washingtoniabs have counted  how many jobs (700) the same sex-couple marriage law will bring in the next three years.

6.    The Washingtonians didn’t count how many squirrels  are there per one person in Washington .

7.    The pansies blossom in Washington which used to blossom in the city of my childhood.

  1. That's the truth about the winter. Depending on where you're from, winter can be a very important (and very long) time of the year, especially in Russia. I'm sure it is unbearable in Murmansk, it was cold enough for me in Moscow, but that's why everyone needs a good shuba!

  2. Yes, the people in Russia remember about a last winter during a half summer, and they keep in mind the future winter since the second half summer.
